A MAJOR MILESTONE
Thanks to you, we helped the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) deliver 10 million meals to children in hunger-stricken areas around the world.
Since launching in 2013, our Watch Hunger Stop campaign has had a singular focus: recognizing that the elimination of world hunger is at the core of securing children’s futures.
For the past two years, every sale of the 100 Series Watch has enabled 100 children in need to receive a nutritious meal through the WFP’s School Meals program.*
In addition, in October 2014, Michael Kors personally pledged to donate 100 meals for every “selfless selfie” posted on social media that showed fans posing in our Watch Hunger Stop T-shirt with the hashtag #WatchHungerStop—and the snaps were served up.
The result? An equation that has added up to 10 million meals so far, and the work continues.
“I’m very proud that through our Watch Hunger Stop campaign we’ve helped WFP deliver over 10 million meals to children in need. We couldn’t have done this without the compassion and efforts of our loyal fans whose support of this important cause is inspiring,” says Kors.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
“We named our campaign Watch Hunger Stop because that’s our actual goal. I’m an optimist and I know we’re making progress but we still have a ways to go,” says Kors.
This fall Michael Kors will launch another limited-edition watch in support of the WFP School Meals program.*
In addition, during the month of October, in conjunction with World Food Day (October 16), visitors to retail stores will be able to make a $5, $10 or $25 donation to WFP at the register in select Michael Kors stores.
A GIFT THAT GIVES BACK
The importance of children’s nourishment is something that we can all get behind, so why not give a gift that gives back and raises awareness of an important cause at the same time? The 100 Series watches come in a range of styles and make a thoughtful and stylish present for yourself or others to mark any occasion.
*For every sale of the 100 Series watch, Michael Kors will donate US $25 to the World Food Programme (WFP). Please note that WFP does not endorse any product or service.
